Day 1 2/12/07 - USA

London -> Minnosoda - > San Francisco

Highlight

• Slokky called be at 7:20 am to tell me he lost his ring in Vancouver! He looked for 3 hours and still couldn’t find it.
• Left as planned, but there were trackworks at Farringdon, luckily the trackwork were finishing and I was able to catch the first train out and everything went smoothly.
• Relatively short queue at Gatwick.
• Just missed the rain again, but poor Iggy.
• The flight was not too bad, we taxied for a long time though…as expected nowadays.
• Talked to Abdul, who lives in Minnosoda, and he told me all about the city.
• The airport was pleasant, but Slokky plane was delayed, so I caught the BART 1st, which was quite efficient.
• It turned out that Slokky changed to an earlier flight and didn’t bother telling me, so he got a taxi himself and got there before me. That was inconsiderate as I had to walk deserted streets with my big backpack.
• We ordered room service for the first and probably the last time. It was very extravagant but wasn’t very good tasting.
