Day 5 28/4/11 - Italy

Acquidolce -> Palermo -> Cefalu -> Acquidolce

Highlight

• Weather still not cleared so we decided on a trip to Palermo.
• Traffic at Palermo is horrific. The streets are really chaotic and very smelly and dirty
• On the plus side, the food was excellent
• Had great Sicilian fast food, followed by excellent gelato, even though it took us several tries before finding the places
• Saw: Quatro Canti, Piazza Pretoria, La Martorana, Casa Professa, Ballaro market, Duomo, Basilica of San Francesco d’Assisi, Teatro Massimo, Il Gesu, Palazzo Mirto, Piazza Marina, Vucciria market
• Missed out on: Palazzo Normanni, San Giovanni degli Eremiti, San Domenico church (closed)
• Took forever to get out of Palermo, stuck in traffic for ages
• Ended up eating in Cefalu. The pizza was very good, seafood so so, service was very bad.

    • fish with fennel and pinenuts
